Postcard from San Blas Islands

December 13, 2012 in Postcards,South America

Palm trees, sandy beaches, complete and utter serenity: that’s what the San Blas Islands are made of. The vast majority of islands in the Caribbean archipelago are uninhabited, making them the perfect destination for a rowdy sailboat with plenty of booze and boys.

Sailing the San Blas Islands was an incredible experience: one of the first times in recent memory I’ve been without phone or internet service, or even my laptop. That ultimate relaxation was hard to break; our only tasks off the boat were beach bonfires, beach volleyball and beach yoga. Here’s a little bit of island envy for everyone stuck in winter wonderlands:

Island envy is the perfect word for my condition after seeing these photos! Amazing! I would so love to escape the European snow slush for a day, and trade winter for a sailing boat experience in the Caribbean! 🙂

Love that one with the ship!

  • That ship! I love all of them but the ship is amazing. You’re making it harder and harder for me to finish up my US travels before moving on!!

  • GORGEOUS!

  • Going in January. Thank you for the inspiration! http://www.worldwanderlusting.com

Thanks! That’s the Black Dragonfly 🙂

  • camorose

Haha believe me, I totally wished that I could have just continued on down through South America instead of coming back to work in the USA!

  • camorose

    Isn’t it the best? 🙂

  • camorose

That’s awesome! Tell the Black Dragonfly I sent you 🙂

Amazing! We wanted to do this when we were in Panama but we just didn’t have enough time. Oh well, that just means we need to go back and do it! 🙂

  • camorose

It’s a must next time you’re in the area! Absolutely amazing!
