One of the reasons why I blog is simply to have the space to write: getting things “on paper” helps me to process my feelings and organize my thoughts. I also love having a record of my life over the past few years: a place that holds all of my stories, my photos, the ups and downs of travel. But sometimes, I also just want to remember and share the little things that brought me day-to-day joy. Every Friday, I’ll give you a peek into the book I currently can’t put down, a great restaurant discovery, a fun new product or an inspiring quote: a few things that I think you might enjoy before we all take off into the glory that is the weekend!

Cherry blossoms peak bloom Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Nothing much to report here except that it’s peak bloom at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, which is quite literally one of my favorite times of the year. I woke up early on Tuesday morning for a solo date under the cherry blossoms: I was actually SINGING to myself while riding my bike to work afterwards, that’s how happy it made me! To make it even better, I stopped and treated myself to a coffee and a bagel before heading into the office–and it really did set the mood to have such a positive and productive day. My weekly coffee dates with Jillian were often the highlights of my week, but it can be tough to find the motivation to wake up early and start the day on an upbeat note (especially with the pup!). This week reminded me just how many more hours there are in the day that we don’t always take full advantage of: those pre-work hours could be used in many ways, and I want to start using them for actual adventures.

Blooms

Cherry trees are blooming EVERYWHERE and I swear it is the most magical time in New York City.

Looks

Ok, I have some shocking news that I don’t think I ever would have imagined typing at 28 years of age: I’m actually kind of loving Abercrombie & Fitch. I was obsessed with Abercrombie in high school and college: popped polo shirt collars, short ripped jean shorts (and jean skirts!), all of the logo tees, the works. I swear I smell Abercrombie 8 when I even think of high school! But it has been actual years since I’ve walked into an Abercrombie store. UNTIL my friend Kate sent me a photo of this super cute (and affordable) sundress that she found there. I had been looking for a white romper for my bach party beer crawl but didn’t want anything too skin-tight or sexy or expensive–and I spotted this on the Abercrombie website, which was exactly the vibe I was going for. I think they’re really making a play at the older millennial crowd with a ton of kind of preppy pieces that could be dressed up or down for casual weekends or even for work, and I gotta say, I am HERE for it. p.s my TACOS hat :)

Reads

I started Into The Water before going to bed the other night, and I was immediately hooked. Usually it takes me a bit to really get into a book, but from the first page, I just wanted to keep reading–terrible timing since I was exhausted! It’s the newest book by the author of The Girl on the Train (which I absolutely devoured), and it has such a good thriller vibe from the get-go. I’m actually very excited for a train trip this weekend–in which I should be productive but I think I will just finish the book!
