One of the reasons why I blog is simply to have the space to write: getting things “on paper” helps me to process my feelings and organize my thoughts. I also love having a record of my life over the past few years: a place that holds all of my stories, my photos, the ups and downs of travel. But sometimes, I also just want to remember and share the little things that brought me day-to-day joy. Every Friday, I’ll give you a peek into the book I currently can’t put down, a great restaurant discovery, a fun new product or an inspiring quote: a few things that I think you might enjoy before we all take off into the glory that is the weekend!       View from the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn  The good news: spring is finally en route to New York City! I spotted the first buds and blooms in my neighborhood, temperatures are finally hovering above freezing and we’ve had a few blue sky days, which means that the city will soon be an explosion of color. I have grand plans to visit all of my favorite gardens and streets of flowering trees in New York City the next month or two, and I am basically just waiting with bated breath for everything to hit peak bloom. I AM SO EXCITED.

It’s official: I’m a crazy pug person! Through some internet connections (aka having a blog where your pug’s life can be easily found via Google), we met up with the owners of Gertie’s brother and two half-brothers–aka one pug from her same litter, and two who had the same father but were different litters. Jango, Jumper and Franklin all live within a block of each other in Battery Park City: isn’t that nuts?! Gert had the best time at this little pug family reunion, and I have to say, it was great to meet some other pug people!MatchaBar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Drinks

I have to admit that I’m not usually the biggest fan of matcha: a lot of times it just tastes sort of grassy. That said, I tried out a cinnamon maple matcha latte with macadamia milk at MatchaBar in Williamsburg the other day and actually really loved it! It didn’t seem too earthy or overly sweet at all, and it was a nice switch-up from caffeine. I’m also obsessed with macademia milk in my drinks right now, especially now that I found out it’s way more sustainable than almond milk. I want to try the tumeric ginger matcha latte next time!Women Rise Together mural in Williamsburg

Eats

At work, we had our national sales meeting this week–and the highlight was totally our team dinner at Marlow & Sons. When we arrived, the hostess told us we were going on an adventure–and after a few twists and turns and staircases, we arrived to our own private Airstream in the backyard! On top of the awesome ambiance, the food was incredible–I’m still daydreaming about the brick chicken and the roasted carrots.Gertie the Pug
