One of the reasons why I blog is simply to have the space to write: getting things “on paper” helps me to process my feelings and organize my thoughts. I also love having a record of my life over the past few years: a place that holds all of my stories, my photos, the ups and downs of travel. But sometimes, I also just want to remember and share the little things that brought me day-to-day joy. Every Friday, I’ll give you a peek into the book I currently can’t put down, a great restaurant discovery, a fun new product or an inspiring quote: a few things that I think you might enjoy before we all take off into the glory that is the weekend!Washington Square Park in New York City   Even though I didn’t post much on social media this week, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes! Book club, power woman breakfast club, an event with a bunch of European tourism boards: it’s all left me buzzing with optimism and excitement for what’s ahead. I still can’t believe that 2016 is almost over, but I want to be really intentional about how I spent these last couple of months in my career, travel and friendships. I might spend part of this weekend setting some monthly goals!

42nd Street in New York City Reads

For book club this month, we decided to switch up our standard chick lit and try something a little more intellectual. We opted for The Great Stagnation, a quick economics read about the financial crisis in the USA. It was actually a very interesting read that made for a great discussion, especially in the midst of so many financial promises being made from both political parties.Pizza monday

Eats

Every Monday, my friends (Prince’s parents!) make pizza at their place: it’s an open invitation to all of their friends. If you bring over toppings and something to drink, they supply the dough, sauce, cheese and convivial atmosphere. I hadn’t been able to make it in a while, but I popped over this week and it was so fun to catch up over some delicious pizza. Such a fun tradition!Brooklyn facade

I’m excited to spend the weekend in New York City! We’re celebrating our engagement with a family dinner here tonight, and I have grand plans to get a hair cut, finally try Russ & Daughters, take a tour of the Tenement Museum, go to my favorite Pilates class and check out a potential whiskey-and-taco-party venue. It’s pretty busy, but it’s full of fun stuff!
