One of the reasons why I blog is simply to have the space to write: getting things “on paper” helps me to process my feelings and organize my thoughts. I also love having a record of my life over the past few years: a place that holds all of my stories, my photos, the ups and downs of travel. But sometimes, I also just want to remember and share the little things that brought me day-to-day joy. Every Friday, I’ll give you a peek into the book I currently can’t put down, a great restaurant discovery, a fun new product or an inspiring quote: a few things that I think you might enjoy before we all take off into the glory that is the weekend!Central Park in the morning in New York CityTo be honest, I’ve spent this week with a serious sense of wanderlust! We don’t have any international trips on the books right now, and I’m spending a lot of time daydreaming our next destination. Top of the list: Jamaica, Portugal, Belize, Toronto! Might have to pull the trigger on some plane tickets in the next couple of weeks, just so that I have something to look forward to with the impending winter. Any recommendations?

I had such a lovely early morning in Central Park earlier this week: I picked up a bodega coffee and bagel (which is one of the greatest New York City pleasures), and walked through the Ramble and across Bow Bridge and by the Bethesda Fountain. It was so delightfully calm and quiet and beautiful: one of those experiences that makes you fall in love with this city all over again.

Reads

I love a good Jojo Moyes, and her newest one doesn’t disappoint! Paris for One and Other Stories is a super easy beach-y read, but it’s a fun one–and I’m loving the little glimpses into Paris life (through a non-Francophile lens). Amsterdam Avenue in the morning in New York City

This weekend, we’re heading to Wilderness Field Notes in the Adirondacks (aka: grown-up camp). We went last year and had such a good time, and I can’t wait for more foliage and canoe rides and craft beers!
