Postcard from the streets of Providence

There are many things I love about Providence, enough to make me want to go back again and again: the Athenaeum (a true bibliophile paradise), the excellent restaurants and coffee shops, the genuinely nice and friendly people who live there.Ocean mural in Providence, Rhode IslandBut one of my favorite things about Providence is the public art. There are awesome murals around every corner! Even the utility boxes are covered in crazy and colorful designs. My guess is that much of the city’s creative and artistic vibe comes from the prominent Rhode Island School of Design’s students and alumni–and that’s such an awesome thing. It makes wandering around the city a constant treasure hunt! These photos are but a few of the ones that I spotted: I can’t wait to go back and look for more.
