One of the reasons why I blog is simply to have the space to write: getting things “on paper” helps me to process my feelings and organize my thoughts. I also love having a record of my life over the past few years: a place that holds all of my stories, my photos, the ups and downs of travel. But sometimes, I also just want to remember and share the little things that brought me day-to-day joy. Every Friday, I’ll give you a peek into the book I currently can’t put down, a great restaurant discovery, a fun new product or an inspiring quote: a few things that I think you might enjoy before we all take off into the glory that is the weekend! #JetBlueSoFly We got back from Mexico on Tuesday night, and the rest of the week has been a bit of a whirlwind! I always dive right back into life after traveling, and this week was no exception: I had book club on Wednesday night and introduced Jillian to the joys of the Commodore spicy chicken sandwich on Thursday night and made a solid effort at unpacking, doing laundry, and generally trying to put my life in order (aka said a silent prayer for the glory of FreshDirect). Definitely going to need a productive Saturday tomorrow though!

Corsica rooftops Hotel des Vosges in Paris, France Wanderlust

I did a fun little Instagram takeover for France Tourism yesterday, and it made me so nostalgic to go back through my posts of living in Nice and traveling to Paris. In the spirit of Francophile fun: (although nothing has been officially booked yet) I’m super excited to be heading back to France this summer! My lovely friend Nevin (whom I met while living in Nice and traveled with to Turkey) is getting married in Cambridge this summer, and I think we will take advantage of the trans-Atlantic flight to introduce my boyfriend to Paris. It will be his very first trip to France, so I already can’t stop daydreaming and trip planning!Pier 60 Barre class at Chelsea Piers, New YorkGym Vibes

I continue to adore Pier 60 Barre classes at Chelsea Piers: even though it only takes 55 minutes and I barely break a sweat, it feels like such an intense and focused workout. I’m always dying in the middle of set–like, how can I possibly do one more leg lift or tricep pull even though it’s only a 2-pound weight?!–but then after, I just breeze out feeling all toned and energized. I went this morning, and I think it’s going to become a new Friday morning routine: it sets such a great tone for the rest of the day and weekend! #HaveKindleWillTravel

Reads

Nothing better than a vacation with plenty of time to read! I read three really great books while we were in Mexico: it was the first time a while that even when I wasn’t reading, all I could think about was what would happen next in the book! The Expatriates was my favorite by far: set in Hong Kong, it follows the lives of three different expat women and how their lives intertwine. The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance is a memoir of a Mormon comedienne who is living and dating in New York City (my guilty pleasure is Mormon mommy blogs sooo…)–it made for a super fun book club discussion on Wednesday night! And The Darkest Corners (for my other book club!) was a YA crime thriller, but it kept me guessing until the very end.Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Words

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” -A.A. Milne

This weekend, we’re taking it easy in New York. We’re going to our favorite comedy club and putting final design touches on our place (apartment tour coming soon!). Bonus: it’s supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow, so I plan doing lots of biking around Brooklyn!
