Postcard from a skyscraper sunset

New York City has some epic sunsets, but too often they’re hidden behind all of those skyscrapers. The only way to remedy this: go up to the very top of one of those skyscrapers. Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building are great public options, but it’s even more fun if it’s not a tourist location (and the most fun if it comes with delicious Indian tapas!).

My good friend Jillian invited me up to see the sunset from her husband’s office building–right after we spent the afternoon hanging out at Top of the Rock. It was the ultimate day of skyscraper hopping! There was an incredible 360-view: watching the traffic snake uptown, the bridges stretching over the East River, across to the new World Trade Center, down to the Statue of Liberty and across to New Jersey. I can’t even imagine if this was my view at the office every day–I wouldn’t get anything done!

Special thanks to Jillian and Aaron for the invite!
