My first night in Gili Trawangan, I watched an absolutely phenomenal sunset from a beachside restaurant and alternated between cursing myself for leaving my camera at home and simply enjoying the view without a viewfinder. I spent the next few nights stretching into sun salutations at dusk, and emerging to skies drunk with stars.
So my last night on Gili T, I was determined to capture a killer sunset. Sipping Bintangs with Aussie-English honeymooers under a thatched-roof hut on the western edge of the island, we wondered if the storm clouds would hide or help the sunset.
