Postcard from Portsea
I’m ready for it to be summer. Been ready, actually, since I left California in the dead of winter, had a few all-too-brief weeks of sunshine in Sydney, and then got hit with the gray skies and chilly winds of a Melbourne winter.
And you know what doesn’t help summer envy? Visiting coastal towns that you know will be insanely fun when the sun starts shining, the beaches fill up and the oceanside pubs get rocking–in the dead of winter. It may have been the perfect mental health day, the chance to collect and compose myself at the end of a busy work week with only the sound of the waves and the wind. But seeing these Hawaii-worthy beaches plopped down in coastal Victoria…I realized that I’m ready to let loose.
