The coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee is a fabulous way to get a bit of exercise with a gorgeous backdrop. As usual, I’m glad I packed both my umbrella and my sunglasses: stormy skies closed down the beaches, but the sun was shining by the time I ended.
Bondi Beach was free of the usual crowds as ominous storm clouds drifted in.
Tamarama Beach: usually a celebrity hotspot, but the sands were empty as the skies stayed gray.
Bronte Beach was a bit drizzly, but I was finally able to tuck my umbrella away as I watched the surfers.
I wouldn’t dare go in the raging surf without any lifeguards present!
Even a stormy day doesn’t stop the surfers.
The coastal walk route is built into the hillsides.
I loved the chance to wander through a cemetery, although I was surprised how ill-kept the graves were. The cemetery in France is so well-kept even though many of the graves are incredibly old!
Gordons Bay features a scuba-diving trail: definitely something I’d love to check out if/when I get certified!
The Clovelly Beach is a delightful little cove: the only beach where the waves aren’t crashing in!
Street art!
Ending with sunny skies at Coogee Beach. Walk up Coogee Bay Road for a bit of lunch as a reward.
