The world is a blank canvas

Marseille certainly isn’t known for the cleanliness of its roads or the beauty of its buildings. However, this hasn’t stopped the city from trying to revitalize its streets with a bit of urban art. Cool Globes is an exposition throughout the city that aims to bring awareness to environmental issues, particularly global warming, through a series of globes decorated by various artists.

What a great way to capture people’s attention about an important issue, as well as liven up the streets (and parks, and squares) of Marseille. Of course, the ice cream one was one of my favorites!

Aren’t they great? They were all over the city, so I kept stopping to read all the descriptions of the artist’s inspiration. So interesting!

Aren’t they fun? Elk Grove had something like this with painted elks all over the city a few years back, but I think these are way cooler–and have an important message behind them!
