Nutella: best served cold

Nutella becomes an unhealthy obsession for Americans who discover it in Europe while studying abroad or exploring the grocery store. I’m no exception. I was shocked when I stayed with family friends in France and I was allowed to spread Nutella on bread for breakfast–it’s basically like starting your day with dessert! Now I love to dip my apple slices in Nutella, but my “healthy snack” usually ends up with me digging into the Nutella jar and licking the hazelnut delight off my fingertips. It’s not a pretty sight.

If you’re craving a Nutella fix in your life and you’re sick of just spreading it on bread, check out this yummy Nutella cocktail, courtesy of the Cook Almost Anything blog. I made it for friends to celebrate Nutella Day, and we agreed that Nutella is best served blended with liqueur and ice. But let’s be serious…what isn’t better with a bit of alcohol?
